THE SOMERSET BARN, OHIO

White Oak / 1870 – 2014

The Story of Somerset. The quaint village of Somerset, Ohio was established in 1810, and was home to the famous Union General Phillip Henry Sheridan. Sixty years later, when this historic hay barn was raised in 1870, the village had just over a hundred homes and 600 residents, a number that’s only roughly doubled over the past century.

Once emblazoned with a famous Ohio Bicentennial mural, this iconic structure features an incredible amount of hand-hewn white oak, preserved by Timber & Beam and incorporated into a number of our available materials and projects.
