The Story of Butler. Two brothers settled this area of Pennsylvania in 1803, shrewdly establishing the county seat in a land deemed “beautiful, being on an eminence, which descend in all directions” but “scarce of timber.”
We’re not sure where they found the timber to built this hay barn nearly a century later in 1889. But we’re sure happy they did. Beautiful wood grain, shaped by hand and time, is a key characteristic of this structure’s elements.
